About this collection

The Edward W. Nolan Photograph Collection contains images of the State of Washington and the American West from the 1880s to the 1930s. The photograph collection was purchased from Edward W. Nolan by Central Washington State College during the mid 1970s. Mr. Nolan is a rare photograph collector and author of numerous illustrated books and guides related to Pacific Northwest history. The images were scanned from the many photographic prints and postcards from the collection. The images visually document the many cities, towns and villages across Washington State and American West during the latter part of the 19th Century and early half of the 20th Century. An inventory of the entire collection can be viewed at http://www.lib.cwu.edu/archive/Manuscripts/MS005-07-02.htm
