Frederick Krueger Photographs

Description

The Frederick Krueger Collection contains images of the upper Kittitas County of Washington State from the 1880s to the 1960s. The images were scanned from photographic prints, glass negatives and rare publications and visually document the communities of Cle Elum, Roslyn, Liberty, Ronald, Easton and other towns and villages in Kittitas County. The collection focuses upon the industries of mining, logging and fur trapping that occured in the region during the later part of the 19th Century and early half of the 20th Century. Included in the collection are images from the record setting snowstorm and great flood of 1916 and the tragic fire of 1918 that destroyed half the city of Cle Elum. It is important to note that many images could not be identified accurately. If our viewers can accurately identify people and places in these images please contact us at archive@cwu.edu.
