Description
Looking south from the tower of Barge Hall on the campus of the Washington State Normal School the entire length of Anderson Street is in view. The John C. Sterling house located on the southeast corner of Eighth and N. Anderson Streets is in the foreground. Many residential homes east of Ellensburg's business district and large houses on Craig's Hill can be seen. Located on the intersection of Third and Chestnut Streets in the distant background, is Craig's Castle built in the late 1880s as the proposed governor's mansion if Ellensburg had gained the site of the state capitol.Asahel Curtis Photograph number #2367.
