Description
Looking south toward the north or back side of Washington School built in 1890, this photograph was taken from the tower of Barge Hall on the Washington State Normal School campus. Anderson Street on the left and Sprague Street on the right are two major north and south streets in Ellensburg. The tall steeple of the Methodist Church and the second stories of the business district buildings can be seen in the background. Henry C. Ackerly (1859-1929) and his family lived in the large house foreground center.Asahel Curtis photograph number #23671.
